Join the B-Man's Prize Pool

Thanks to popular demand, you can now play for $$$ prizes on The Weekly NFL Picks Page by joining the B-Man's Prize Pool. This special pool will run during the regular season, from Week 1 through Week 17.

There will be a weekly $$$ prize for the best record (and using the total points tie-breaker, if necessary) and then there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the best records (using the site's point system) over all 17 weeks of the regular season. See below for official rules.

To join the prize pool, please make a donation of $20 or more in support of the site. There are numerous costs involved with running the site season after season and it also requires a lot of time and effort on my part to keep it up to date and running smoothly. The prize pool gives you a great shot at earning $$$ prizes and you can help ensure the site continues to thrive as the place for fun competition during the NFL season.

Official Rules

Making Your Picks
All players should enter their picks according to the rules posted on the About the Site page. This means that your picks must be submitted at least 5 minutes prior to the kickoff of each game and they will be scored against the final point spread posted on the site. AutoPicks are eligible, but be sure to check that you have not already used up your 3 AutoPick limit.

Weekly Prize
All players entered in the B-Man's Prize Pool will be eligible for the weekly prize. The weekly prize will be awarded to the player with the most wins for that week. In the event of a tie, the total points tie-breaker will be used. The player whose tie-breaker total is closest to the total points scored in the last game on the weekly schedule without going over will be declared the winner. If all tied players are over, the player closest to the point total will be the winner. If the players are still tied, they will split the prize equally. Players must enter a non-zero total to win the tie-breaker.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Prizes
All players entered in the B-Man's Prize Pool by September 15th, 2009 will be eligible for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place prizes, awarded at the end of the regular season. The top 3 prizes will be awarded to the players with the most points in Weeks 1 through 17 combined. You get 2 points for a correct pick and -1 (minus-one) point for an incorrect pick. See the About the Site page for more information. If no pick is entered for a game, that game will be scored as an incorrect pick. Exception: if a player misses an entire week, does not submit picks for any games, and does not receive any AutoPicks, the player receives a 0-0 record with 0 points. The tie-breaker for the top 3 prizes will be best single week. If 2 or more players are tied for a top 3 prize, the player with the best single week record based on correct pick percentage between Weeks 1 and 17 will be declared the winner. If players are still tied, they will split the prize individually.

Prize Delivery
All prizes will be awarded as Amazon.com gift cards. Weekly prizes will be emailed within 1 week of winning. The top 3 prizes will be awarded via email by January 10, 2010. You must register a valid email address when joining the site and the prize pool. Failure to do so will mean forfeiture of any prize won.

Schedule
The prize competition will start with the Week 1 games (Thursday, September 10th, 2009) and end with the Week 17 games (last game is Sunday, January 3rd, 2010). Player records during the playoffs will have no bearing on the prize competition.

Eligibility
All players on the site are eligible to enter the Prize Pool. Only one entry is allowed per person and you must be a registered user on the site with a valid email address. If you enter multiple times under different usernames, all of your entries will be removed from the pool and you will be ineligible for prizes. Players who enter the pool after Week 1 is complete on September 15th, 2009 will not be eligible for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes. They will only be eligible for the weekly prizes.

While I am asking for donations to help offset the cost of running the site, this prize pool is free to enter. Simply submit the form above and I will add you to the pool.

Although you will see me listed as the poolmaster in the rankings, my picks will not be eligible for any prize.
